Local Training Spots

HEY CLEVELAND — we may be social distancing, but we’re still moving! Where have you been logging your miles?! Every Thursday leading up to race weekend, we will be featuring a new TRAINING SPOT in Cleveland, where runners and walkers can go to prepare for our virtual race! If you have a favorite park, path, or trail, tag us at #IConqueredMyLand and #TrainingSpotSpotlight in your training pictures so we can follow along with your journey!

Follow along on Facebook and Happy Training!

Edgewater Park
The paved trail goes through both the upper and lower area of the park, where you can run along the shores of Lake Erie. Edgewater Park is also dog-friendly so bring your four-legged friend along while you train for our virtual race!
*Please go to Cleveland Metroparks website for updates on closures.

Cuyaoga Valley National Park
Cuyahoga Valley National Park just lifted the closure of the Towpath Trail inside park borders (they needed to inspect the trail after the flooding subsided). There is a small portion of the trail (2 miles) from Lock 39/Rockside Rd. south to Canal Exploration Center that’s still closed.

Cleveland Metroparks has confirmed their Canalway Center parking lot is open (Canalway Center is closed). 4524 E 49th St, Cleveland, OH 44125.

Shaker Lakes Trail (eastside)
2600 South Park Blvd.
Cleveland, OH 44120

Trails and outdoor facilities will remain free and open to the public from dawn until dusk during this time. Please note, the Nature Center is closed through May 1.

Have a favorite running spot? Please tell us about it so we can share with other runners!
