covid safety plan for 2022 race weekend The marathon team is committed to holding a safe in-person event and has been working closely with health officials at the City of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County and the State of Ohio to do so. The health and safety of runners, volunteers, staff and spectators are the marathon’s top priorities, and the team will continue to work with officials and its medical partner, University Hospitals Sports Medicine, to hold an event that is safe for all who participate. For those who do not feel comfortable with an in-person race, virtual options for all race distances will be available. What are the planned safety protocols for 2022? We take the health and safety of our runners and volunteers very seriously and are working with local and state health departments, as well as our medical partner, University Hospitals, to execute a safe event. As such, there will be a limited number of participants based on local and state guidelines. Health and safety protocols in place for race weekend are as follows: Hand sanitizer and masks will be available at the Health and Fitness Expo and available at the Gear Check tent on Saturday and Sunday Please try to maintain social distancing whenever possible. *We reserve the right to modify these guidelines based on current conditions.
