Lauren Hodkey - 2024 Runner Stories

My name is Lauren. I’m 24 years old from Mentor, Ohio and am running the half marathon in May. This will be my first race at this distance and I’m so excited! I have a chronic nerve condition, and my body has been through a lot throughout the past 10 years as I’ve navigated brain surgeries and numerous complications, all the while continuing to experience daily pain. I decided to start running last year to show myself (and others) that no matter what you are going through, you can still achieve what you put your mind to and what sometimes feels impossible. It’s amazing what our bodies can do with a little push! I’m looking forward to running with everyone in May!
