Half Marathon | 5k | 5-Person Marathon Relay

Run or walk your race anywhere, anytime between October 16th - 19th.

We're having a virtual party! Gather your friends in-person or virtually and join us for the first annual Cleveland RUNtoberfest event! Participants will run or walk their desired distance anytime, anywhere between October 16 - 19, submit their results online, and celebrate their accomplishment with a beer from Platform Beer Company.

ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE THE FOLLOWING:

  • $5 Gift Card to Platform Beer Company
  • Cotton Short Sleeve T-Shirt
  • Custom Drink Koozie

Packet Pick-Up Options: 

1) Pick up at Platform Beer Company -The Lot on Saturday, October 17 between 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. (MUST REGISTER BY 10/4)
2) Have your items mailed - Option to pay for postage during online registration

Move for Hunger

A portion of the proceeds raised from this event will benefit Move for Hunger.

More than 40 million Americans face hunger every day, but 40% of the food produced in the United States every year is wasted. Move For Hunger works with a network of socially-responsible relocation and transportation companies to transport food where it’s needed most to reduce waste and help battle food insecurity. Since 2009, Move For Hunger has delivered more than 18.8 million pounds of food to food banks across the United States and Canada - that’s the equivalent of 15.7 million meals. Food banks are especially in need during Covid-19 - every $25 you raise helps transport 63 meals, $50 provides 125 meals, and $100 provides 250 meals!

Packet pick-up will be available on Saturday, October 17th between 11am and 2pm at:

Register by October 4 to pick-up at Platform!

For each draft beer served during packet pick-up (Saturday, 10/17 from 11-2), Platform will donate $1 to Move for Hunger.


Here's How it Works:

REGISTER: Register for your desired distance online - registration will remain open through October 19th at 12am EST.

DOWNLOAD: Download the Asics Runkeeper App to upload your results directly to Race Roster after you finish your miles (optional). Instructions will be emailed to you.

MOVE: Run or walk the distance you registered to complete anywhere between October 16-19.

DOCUMENT: Follow the Cleveland Marathon on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter and use the hashtag #CLERUNTOBERFEST to tag us in your finisher photos! Don't forget to take us with you throughout your training, too!

SUBMIT: Enter your results online sometime before October 26th on our website or through the RunKeeper App (instructions below).

SWAG: There are two options to receive your swag - select your desired option during registration7
1.  Pick up your swag at Platform Beer Co. - THE LOT at 4157 Lorain Ave, Cleveland, OH 44113 on October 17th between 11am - 2pm.
NOTE: You must register by October 4 to pick up in person.
2.  Have your items mailed to you after the event for an additional $5.00 fee.


During these times, we ask that you continue to practice social distancing. Please respect the guidelines outlined for your community and follow the regulations set in place to help us all continue to move forward, stop the spread, and keep each other safe.

How long is each leg/segment in the marathon relay?
Relay team legs are 3.2, 4, 4.5, 6.5, 8. 

What if I can't get 5 people on my team?
We encourage 5-person teams for the marathon relay, however, smaller groups work, too! If you have less than 5 people, one person (or more) will need to run more than one legs/segments to account for the missing distances. During the registration process, participants can select one or more of the distances.

How do teams register?
First, the designated team captain should register and choose "Virtual Marathon Relay - Team Captain" to create the team. Once the team has been established, team members will register and choose "Virtual Marathon Relay - Team Member" to select their team from the dropdown box.

 


 

How to Submit Your Results

There are 2 ways to submit your results from October 16 - 23

1) Submit Results using your PC or Phone:

  1. Click here "Submit Results Now
  2. Confirm your registration by entering 1) Your registration confirmation code and 2) Last name, then click "Confirm Registration"
  3. Click "Submit a Virtual Result"
  4. Enter your finish time in the format below, select your distance, check the "terms" box then click "Submit Results"

2) Submit your results through the RunKeeper APP:

1. You will receive an email from us with the RunKeeper information. This email prompts you to download the ASICS Runkeeper™ app.

2. When you're ready to run your virtual race, on your mobile device, go to your participant dashboard and click the start virtual run button. You can also click your registration link from your mobile device in the initial email you have received.

3. After clicking the Start virtual run button on your dashboard or the link you received via email, you will be directed to the ASICS Runkeeper™ app. You will want to confirm your name to continue the process.

4. From there you will want to click the checkered flag to open your race(s).

5. Select the race you're wanting to run.
6. After you selected your desired race, you will be asked if you are ready to start your activity. When you're ready to run click start your race.
7. Once you have finished running click stop and save. Your results will be automatically posted to Race Roster.
