WOW air joins Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon as official airliner

CLEVELAND (April 26, 2018) – The Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon welcomes WOW air, a low-fare, long-haul airline based in Iceland, as the official and exclusive airline of the 41st Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon.

WOW air is launching 4 times weekly nonstop flights on May 4 from Cleveland Hopkins on to Reykjavik, Iceland (KEF) with continuing connections to Continental Europe.

“We welcome WOW air and look forward to seeing their impact in the community, both at Cleveland’s premier running event and with the launch of their service at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport,” said Ralph Staph, race director for the Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon. “As a marquee platform, the marathon can help bring awareness to WOW air’s new direct transatlantic air service to Iceland.”

The 41st Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon will take place May 19-20 in downtown Cleveland. The new one-mile race joins the 8k, 5k and Kids’ Run races Saturday. On Sunday, the marathon, half marathon and 10K will start at 7 a.m. on Ontario Street at Quicken Loans Arena.

About the Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon 

One of the 50 oldest races in the country, the 2018 Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon will take place May 19-20. The following opportunities are available for people to participate in the event: full marathon, half marathon, 10K, 8K, 5K, one mile and Kids’ Run.
