University Hospitals Cleveland Marathon Announces Results of the 2025 Half and Full Marathons

Women’s full-marathon winner completes historic 4-peat, new course record for men’s half

CLEVELAND, OH – May 18, 2025 – The University Hospitals Cleveland Marathon announced today the results of its half and full marathon races. Ashton Swinford, a mother of two from Hudson, Ohio was the first female finisher in the full-marathon distance, rounding out a historic 4th consecutive top finish in Cleveland. Sam Snodgrass, from Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, won the men’s UH Drusinsky Sports Medicine Institute Half Marathon with a new unofficial course record of 1:07:29.

For the full marathon distance, Zach Kreft, from Sunbury, Ohio came in first for the men’s division with a time of 2:18:58. Four-time winner Ashton Swinford won the women’s full marathon with a time of 2:51:32, almost exactly the same pace as a year ago. Charlie Raymer from Stevensville, Michigan placed first in the non-binary division with a time of 3:04:30. As a Boston qualifying race, the University Hospitals Cleveland Marathon plays an important role in supporting non-binary individuals in their quest for Boston.

Pittsburgh-runner Sam Snodgrass placed first in the men’s half marathon and set a new course record with a time of 1:07:29, breaking a record that had stood for 13 years. Emma Johnson from Dayton, Ohio won the women’s half marathon with a time of 1:20:11. Ry Martin-Yates from Cleveland, Ohio won the half marathon’s non-binary division with a time of 1:40:08.

“Cleveland was really on full display this year,” said Race Director Ralph Staph. “Incredible volunteers, historic finishes from local runners, our top-notch medical staff and, of course, it wouldn’t be Cleveland without a little wind and a brief sprinkle that opened up to an absolutely perfect day. We’d like to thank University Hospitals and all our sponsors who contribute so much to making this the premier distance running event in northeast Ohio.”

This was the 48th running of the University Hospitals Cleveland Marathon. Over 11,000 runners from 48 states and 10 countries participated in race weekend, which featured a Kids Run, 5K, 10K, Half and Full Marathon. For a full listing of results, visit: /results-photos.aspx.

Registration for the 2026 University Hospitals Cleveland Marathon opens Monday, May 19th and will offer participants a limited opportunity to lock in the lowest prices for next year’s race.
