Union Home Mortgage Cleveland Marathon Raises More Than $500,000 For Charity Partners During Unique Season

Spring fundraising totals exceed expectations by more than $75,000

CLEVELAND - (July 19, 2022) — The 2022 Union Home Mortgage Cleveland Marathon raised a total of $326,712.43 for 22 partner organizations through its Race It Forward Charity Program. When combined with last year’s October running of the Cleveland Marathon, the organization has raised more than $535,000 over the last year. The Cleveland Marathon has helped raise more than $3 million for local charitable organizations since its inception in 1977.

150 charity runners participated across the 5K, 10K, Half- and Full Marathon events during race weekend in May, spurring a total of 1,935 donations.

“We are so proud to act as a catalyst supporting the critical work of so many local nonprofits,” said Ralph Staph, Race Director. “The total this year well exceeded our initial fundraising goal of $250,000 and is evidence of this region’s incredible generosity, as well as what we can achieve together through the power of community and sport.”

The Cleveland Marathon has a long-standing commitment to the charitable community. The Race it Forward Charity Program allows organizations of all sizes and interests to raise funds by providing the tools and knowledge to create an effective fundraising vehicle. All charities are welcome to participate. Charitable organizations can learn more about becoming an official partner on our website.
