2022 Union Home Mortgage Introduces Race Day Announcer Line Up
CLEVELAND - (May 16, 2022) — The Union Home Mortgage Cleveland Marathon introduced today its lineup of race day announcers featuring Cleveland-area natives Catherine Bosley, Karl Gruber and Anthony Lima.
“We’re so thrilled to return to our normal spring race weekend and have such incredible talent on hand to cheer folks on,” said Race Director Ralph Staph. “Beyond just their energy and enthusiasm, this team has a ton of experience to share with participants, along with a genuine love of the region and this event.”

Catherine Bosley
A Cleveland-area native and Kent State graduate, Catherine is a two-time Associated Press Award-winning and Emmy nominated TV anchor and reporter now seen regularly on WOIO/WUAB. In her free time, Catherine is an avid runner, finishing 13 marathons, including several Cleveland marathons (her favorite race). She also enjoys all kinds of sports, is a vintage car enthusiast, and loves to travel with her husband of 20 years.
Karl Gruber
A native of Willoughby, Karl has been one of the race voices of the Cleveland Marathon since 2011. Karl has run a total of 78 marathons, including 6 in Cleveland, and rejoices in returning to his hometown to cheer on all the runners and use his extensive knowledge of running to help the thousands of spectators understand what is happening during the race. Starting with the Cleveland Marathon, in 1996 – 97, Gruber successfully became the 9th man in the world to run 52 marathons in 52 weeks, which he used as a platform to raise money and awareness for leukemia research.
Anthony Lima
A Chesterland native, Anthony is a 15-year veteran of the sports media world. He is a familiar voice to Northeast Ohioans appearing on both 92.3 The Fan, as well as WOIO in his role as sports anchor. Anthony is involved with a number of local charities and has been honored by the local chapter of Shoes and Clothes for Kids and has devoted time to W.A.G.S. 4 Kids, which provides service dogs to children in need. He also served as Emcee for Cleveland’s annual Columbus Day Parade in Little Italy.
