11.20.09 - Fitworks Fitness Centers to Offer Free Training for Cleveland Marathon Runners
CLEVELAND (Nov. 20, 2009) – Fitworks Fitness Centers in Northeast Ohio have announced that they are offering a free training program to assist runners with their preparation for the Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon, Half Marathon & 10K on Sunday, May 16, 2010.
Fitworks is offering a six week cross training program to assist with training and preparation for any pre-registered runners in the full marathon (26.2 miles), half marathon (13.1 miles) or 10K (6.2 miles) events. During the duration of the six weeks, all Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon registrants will receive complimentary Fitworks memberships.
The program will be offered once per week and will be 60 minutes long, taught by one of Fitworks certified instructors. Participants can choose from two classes:
1. Group Power is a barbell program that strengthens all major muscles. This class uses simple, athletic movements such as squats, lunges, presses and curls.
2. Group Centergy is a fitness class that combines tai chi, yoga and pilates in a group environment.
Participants may begin their six week training program anytime after Jan. 1, 2010. The following Fitworks locations will be offering the program: Willoughby, Mentor, Richmond Heights, Parma and Rocky River.
